Frequently Asked Questions
When to Start Training
With the gentle methods used at Greenwood, a puppy is never too young to begin! We encourage puppy owners to enroll in the earliest available class so their pups start off on the right track. We take pups as young as 12 weeks - they must be current with the vaccinations that are appropriate for their age (please ask us or your vet for more info if needed). Older pups and adult dogs are also welcome - it is never too late to start training, either.
If you are interested in getting started ASAP, consider a private lesson. Puppies as young as 8 weeks can do these!
How to Enroll
If you are interested in enrolling in a course, please print out our registration form, fill it out & sign it, and send it to us along with your tuition check and vaccination record. As soon as we receive your check, we will reserve you a spot in the next available course. Some people prefer to send the check as soon as they can, then send the registration form & vaccination records later, which is fine as long as we receive them NO LATER than 1 week prior to the first class. Please also carefully read our informational letter!
The course availability on the course schedules page is usually current, but feel free to contact us for up-to-date information.
Observe a Class
Are you interested in observing a class? We highly encourage all prospective students to observe a class or two so they can see for themselves this wonderful way of training. If the next available group class seems too far away for your needs, please consider a private lesson or two to get you started!
Please visit our Calendar and Directions pages to determine when & how to come.
